At Catholic Women in Business, we run a Facebook group with almost 10,000 women. As a result, we’ve seen it all, from heartfelt pleas for prayers and requests for career advice to spam and bots. Sometimes the posts that seem spammy come not from AI or scammers but from well-intentioned women who aren’t sure the best way to promote themselves in a Facebook group.

Have you ever been annoyed by a pop-up that won’t go away? Or a website where the text blends into the background? These common irritants are just two ways our digital world can be inaccessible to people with disabilities.

Catholic leadership is not simply about managing people or maintaining systems. It is a unique calling to empower, motivate, inspire, and uplift others so they can grow into the people God created them to be. At its heart, transformational leadership is about influencing others through integrity, vision, service, and trust.

There’s a particular tension familiar to women entrepreneurs, especially those in faith-based, mission-driven, or creative businesses. We want to share our work because we feel the depth of its importance, but we resist selling—not because we lack confidence, but because we intuitively sense when healthy persuasion crosses into manipulation or when promoting our work begins to feel like self-betrayal.
