God has given you particular gifts. And for all the “bossy babes” out there, this is delightful news: being direct and even confrontational in a world that shirks away from hard truths is a gift. We need people who can stand firm in the truth, and who aren’t afraid to lead with love.

The book Leadership Unblocked: Break Through the Beliefs that Limit Your Potential by Muriel M. Wilkins was a book I struggled to read. As a naturally introspective person who feels like I already have a strong awareness of my strengths and weaknesses, I was humbled to realize how much growth I still need in many areas. However, that realization was not discouraging, but instead inspiring.

As Catholic women in business, we are called not just to achieve but to anoint—to bring grace, truth, and presence into the marketplace. We are not just strategists. We are stewards. We are not just leaders. We are light bearers.

Work should not be separate from the rest of our life. We are the same person whether we’re working or parenting or resting or spending time with family or friends. The same virtues we hear about at Mass or read about in Scripture are the ones we must use in our workplace.
